Grace Based Pardon

GRACE THEOLOGY

I learned a new word recently. It's one of the Greek words used in the New Testament for forgiveness and it means "to in kindness, pardon or rescue." I love that. The root of the word is charis, you know what that word is? Yep, you guessed it, my favorite-- grace!

Forgiveness that is rooted in grace.

That's what we get as God's kids. Pardon of every offense. Favor without conditions. Clearing of our record, not conditional release from captivity.

Pardon removes your record. Probation monitors your behavior. Only one of those is the gospel.

He forgave all your sins (Colossians 2:13; 1 John 1:9)

Once was enough (Hebrews 10:10; Romans 6:10)

It lasts for all time (Hebrews 7:25; Hebrews 10:14)

He doesn't even remember them anymore (Hebrews 8:12; Hebrews 10:17)

God's not counting, so why are you?
